Steps and required credentials to connect Stripe to Squadbase

Stripe supports two connection methods: OAuth and API Key.

Connecting with OAuth

Connect your Stripe account directly from Squadbase. No additional credentials required.

Select Stripe

On the data source setup screen in Squadbase, select "Stripe."

Authenticate with Stripe

Click the "Connect with Stripe" button to be redirected to Stripe's authorization page.

Select an account

A list of your Stripe accounts will be displayed. Select the account you want to connect and install the app.

Complete authorization

Stripe redirects you back to Squadbase and the connection is ready to use.

Only fully activated Stripe accounts can be connected via OAuth. If you see "Activate your Stripe account to install," complete the account activation in the Stripe Dashboard first (business details and bank account setup are required).

Connecting with API Key

Required Information

FieldDescription
Stripe API KeyYour Stripe Secret API Key (sk_live_... / sk_test_...) or Restricted API Key (rk_live_... / rk_test_...).

How to Obtain

Stripe API Key

Open the Stripe Dashboard

Log in to Stripe Dashboard and navigate to Settings → Developers → Manage API keys.

Copy your Secret Key

Under the Standard keys section, click Reveal live key next to the Secret key, then copy it.

To use test mode data instead, toggle to Test mode in the top right and copy the test Secret key (sk_test_...).

(Optional) Create a Restricted Key

If you prefer to limit access to only the data Squadbase needs, click Create restricted key, set the required permissions to Read, and copy the generated key (rk_live_... / rk_test_...).

Never share your Secret key publicly. If you suspect it has been compromised, roll it immediately from the Stripe Dashboard.
