Connections
Manage data source connections at the organization level and share them across multiple projects
Connections are created at the organization level. Once you set up a connection to a data source, any project in your organization can reuse it — no need to re-enter credentials for each project.
You can control which spaces and projects each connection is available to, so you can share some connections organization-wide while keeping others limited to specific teams.

When you create a database with Squadbase DB, Squadbase AI can write to the connector — creating tables and records.
Uploading Excel/CSV files stores the data in Squadbase DB, making it accessible to Squadbase AI.
Creating a Project from a Connection
Click + New from Home or inside a space. You'll be asked to choose one of the following:

- Create a new connection — Connect a new data source and enter your credentials. The project setup starts automatically once the connection is ready.
- Use an existing connection — Choose from connections already shared in your organization. Select one and the project setup begins immediately.
Adding a Connection to a Project
You can add a connection to an existing project from two places.
From the Data tab — Click the Data tab at the top of the screen, then click + next to Connections. Connections available to this project are listed. Select one to add it, or click Create a new connection to connect a new data source.

From the chat's Data tab — Click the Data tab in the chat input area, then select Add to project. Connections available to this project are listed. Select one to add it, or click Create a connection to connect a new data source.

Adding a Connection to the Organization
Click Connections in the left sidebar, then click + Add a connection. Select the data source you want to connect and enter your credentials.

Viewing and Editing Connection Details
Click on any connection from Connections in the left sidebar to open its detail page.
Connection
Edit the connection name and credentials. You can also check the current authentication status and disconnect if needed. IP addresses listed under IP restrictions must be added to your data source's allowlist to allow connections from Squadbase.
Knowledge
Add context about this data source — such as descriptions of tables and columns or notes on data quality — that Squadbase AI refers to during analysis.
Queries
View and manage reusable SQL or HTTP request definitions saved on this connection. Queries are tied to the connection, so any project that has access can call the same query.

Project Access
Control which spaces and projects can use this connection.
- Allow all projects — Every project in your organization can use this connection.
- By space — Allow all projects within a specific space, or expand to choose individual projects.

Edit Permissions
Click Share in the top-right corner to share this connection with specific members. Shared members can view and edit the connection's access settings and credentials.
