From Scattered Data to a Shared Team Foundation - Share Connections and Queries Across Your Organization

The more your team works with data, the more it ends up scattered across everyone's own hands. You can't tell where a number lives, you re-run the same aggregation over and over, and the same metric gets calculated differently from one person to the next. On top of that, there's no single place that governs who can see which data. When both the data and the know-how to use it only ever flow at the individual level, these small snags pile up into real overhead for the whole team.

This update is designed to change that premise. Connections (your links to data) and Queries (your aggregation and extraction definitions) are no longer something each person or project sets up on its own — they're now shared, reusable assets at the organization level. Everyone can access the same data, publish scope is governed centrally, and the numbers stay consistent because the definitions are shared. It's an update that turns scattered data, and the know-how to use it, into a shared foundation for your team.

Share Connections and Queries Across Your Organization

This release adds two things: organization-level Connections and reusable Queries.

Connect Once, Reuse Everywhere

With organization-level Connections, there's no need to set up connections again every time you add a project. Data that someone on your team has already connected is instantly available from a new project. The same data source no longer gets connected over and over per project, and credential updates happen in just one place.

You can also set which spaces and projects each Connection is available to. Open some up to your entire organization while keeping others limited to specific teams, so you can share while still controlling access. Because you manage "who can connect to which data" centrally at the organization level, governance holds even as you share more widely.

Turn "How We Get That Number" into a Team Asset

With reusable Queries, you write your frequently used aggregation and extraction logic once, and call it from any project that shares the Connection. There's no need to rewrite the same SQL or HTTP request for every project, and because everyone gets the same definition when they call it, your analysis stays consistent.

How you calculate revenue, the conditions behind your key metrics, your KPI definitions — "how we get that number" no longer gets thrown away project by project. Instead, it accumulates as an asset the whole team can share and run.

Sharing and Publishing, with Zero Wait

We've also significantly rebuilt the experience of sharing dashboards and apps with your team and publishing them externally. The "build" and "deploy" steps that used to be required — along with the wait for changes to take effect — are now gone.

When you share with Viewers on your team, everything you create or change is reflected automatically. Just configure your publish settings and manage members — no special steps required — and the latest dashboard reaches them. No more "I thought I shared it, but they were still on an old version."

Publish Externally in Seconds, with a Single Button

Publishing externally takes a single button and completes within seconds. Push the latest version live every time you update, without worrying about wait times. While a dashboard is live, you can also see exactly which version is published, so you always know your audience is getting what you intended.

Stronger Security and More Free Storage for Squadbase DB

As the foundation your team relies on to work with data, Squadbase DB now manages connection details more securely and includes more free storage on every plan.

Newly created Squadbase DBs now keep their connection details (connection string) internal rather than issuing them externally, with Squadbase managing them securely on your behalf. This applies only to newly created Squadbase DBs — existing projects remain unchanged and can be used as before.

We've also expanded the free storage included with each plan and lowered the cost of additional storage. On the Individual plan and above, you can add as much as you need beyond the free tier, with no usage cap. Your team can work with more data while keeping operating costs down.
